Harbor Updates
It's been a while since I touched base with our neighbors to the southern tip of our city, so here's a quick round-up of others who have:
Life on the Edge: The News from Pedro
Daily Breeze: Generic Name for Project on the Water
Additional posting at MS2
Also, why this info is late in getting to you, it still serves as an FYI:
Special Meeting: L.A. Harbor Commission Mon Nov 14 - 7:30 am.
There is only one agenda item on the menu. It is for a closed session to choose the next POLA executive. There is an opportunity to give public comments at the head of the 7:30 a.m. downtown L.A. meeting.
AGENDA OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LOS ANGELES BOARD OF HARBOR COMMISSIONERS
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2005, AT 7:30 A.M.

Hey Mayor Sam,
The special meeting is to conduct interviews with the finalists. A decision may not be announced for several more days.
Later,
Harborgal
PS-Prediction: Mr. Yoshitani may be "it"

One thing is clear -- if there is to be any meaningful environmental change, Seaton has to go.

Thanks for posting the Sierra Club Harbor Vision News on MS2. It is a really good summary of many of the issues facing the /San Pedro and Wilmington communities.
Thanks as well for leading us to "Life On The Edge". It is really fun, and a very good andidote to a lot of the Port's spin.

Memo to Mayor Villaraigosa:
This is a pathetic group of "finalists" for a Mayor who describes himself as an environmentalist and urges residents to "Think Big". These guys (& gals) are just "same old-same old" and cut from the same piece of cloth.
Where is your "bold" thinking Mr. Mayor? I would have expected this list from Jimmy Hahn or Dick Riordan! Shame on you for being so bland and unimaginative!
