Potential Advisory of Receiving Hurricane Victims
The State Office of Emergency Services has advised LA County Office of Emergency Management that, as a result of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Rita, Los Angeles County could potentially receive some of the Hurricane Katrina evacuees that are currently taking shelter in Houston and surrounding areas. At present, this newest hurricane threat appears to be headed toward Houston and the gulf area, including New Orleans. Note that this is only a potential new need to accept evacuees.
The LA County Office of Emergency Management does not have any definite information; however, the potential exists to receive evacuees beginning Wednesday, September 21.

We are America, regardless of extreme leftist (ethnic oriented) views, so we will do what we can as a society to help fellow Americans.

One of Harman's people was just in my office about housing 200-300 people on or near my facility. Apparently they have portable buildings, food and services lined up and are actively looking for sites today, and looking to move fast.

I'm can't remember the guy's name, but he wasn't a staffer. I've met a whole bunch of Harman's errand boys and girls, and he wasn't one of them. He seemed more like a campaign worker, or a retired Democratic Party volunteer. He mentioned his military experience, and was familiar personally with my facilty.
