5150 Troll award goes to 11:14AM, the coolaide drinking Weiss supporter, for persistence, least original personal attacks, and basically re-hashing the same old boring, no traction accusations against Trutanich and Zine.

Jack Weiss's downfall should be celebrated as an annual public holiday in Los Angeles, much like the French celebrate Bastille Day. The dismal, roundly hated Weiss was quite literally thrown out office to the silent cheer of everyone in City Hall. Even Delgadillo got the grudging "attaboy" from the council, but nobody, I repeat, nobody gave a damn about Weiss's last day in office.

The little shit sneeked out of city hall and back to his hillside mansion without a letting the door hit him in the ass. The picture of Weiss fighting back the tears on election night in the street outside his "victory" party is priceless (see Berger's website) and the Jack Weiss Downfall video on You Tube is frankly the sweetest revenge that CD5 constituents could have asked for.

So 11:14AM, aka Ace Smith or Jacobsen or whoever you are (maybe the nut who said he votes in every election but did not vote for either Trutanich or Weisshole?), you really need this award because you don't get it do you? You lost. You lost, and y the way, did I say you lost?

Don't like losing? Here's the answer for you. Embrace a real candidate instead of trying to fool voters, democrats and republicans with phony lying sacks of shit. If the democrat party had any guts at all, they would have run a real candidate. Instead they pick that snothole Weiss because he terrorized them into supporting him.

Where are you now Jackass? How many of the fat cats who threw money at you are returning your calls now? Not happening for you is it? You are gone but not forgotten, and if you think you'll sneak your lying ass into LAX, it will be the straw that breaks the Mayor's back (heard from him recently?)

One thought for Jack - give AEG a call, maybe they'll hire you as a 'consultant' on billboards. I hear they're not getting very far with their plans for their latest digital monster billboard at Staples Center, and AEG did support your failed bid to be city attorney.

Smith is totally wrong to tell LAPD they have to keep letting retired members wear LAPD-look alike uniforms for movie shoots.

Those guys are not part of the LAPD chain of command, which is taken very seriously as it should be.

If anything went wrong, it would be the LAPD's and city's image at stake and potentially liable for allowing the mistaken identity.

Smith says there have been no complaints but that's not true - lots of people complain about the lack of professionalism but maybe haven't filed lawsuits for injury. There are intangible costs to loss of image when you see a bunch of saggy old guys sitting around in LAPD uniforms, even if they're nice and friendly.

This does not hurt the film industry - they're being hurt by a lack of tax incentives and perks that other states have. No one stays or leaves because of the uniform.

All LAPD and the Chief said is they want a uniform distinguished from LAPD, they're not interfering in who is hired or anything else.

If they don't want security guard uniforms, they can make one up.

Then there was the issue of LAX police, should LAPD be stationed there. That's a closer call but Koretz was uninformed when he said it was a duplication of efforts: from what I've read the 15 or so anti-terror LAPD cops stationed there have had specialized training and are answerable to the LAPD chain of command. There is often MORE duplication of effort and cost to have 2 separate agencies or depts. than one, especially when it comes to issues of who's responsible in case of a problem or crisis. The fact that two separate agencies have to co-ordinate preparations for example would seem to be a duplication of efforts and costs.

The argument of Koretz etc. seems to fly against advice on saving money in the city by consolidating depts. and chains of command.

(That duplication and waste is even truer at County level where it was recently reported that two heads of similar depts. didn't even know the other one existed! Why did the media stop posting reporters to monitor the Supes? They say they can't afford it anymore but then they need an independent Controller responsible to us like the city has -- the County Controller is hired and fired by the Supervisors which is absurd.)
