Yes, I'm a city employee, but no, I'm neither greedy nor corrupt. The reason I earn a good pension is in part because I am paid a lower wage than I would receive in the private sector for what I do (I am a degreed professional working in a specialized area). My pension is protected in part to shield me from political influence. The *opposite* of corrupt.

As a voter, it is your right to contact your councilmember or other politician and request that the services you receive be reduced if you wish to reduce your taxes. Believe it or not, I would agree with that approach. But please don't assume that this bullying of civil servants is 'karma for their greed and corruption.' At least 80% of us are here to competently serve the communities we work for. Folks, let's not lose sight of that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-2143379603266387892010-11-01T09:59:05.547-07:002010-11-01T09:59:05.547-07:00This laugher from the "Westside White Liberal...This laugher from the "Westside White Liberal Guy".

LA Times cites GOP cheerleader as reporter

Kevin Roderick • November 1 2010 8:34 AM

The L.A. Times website this morning has been featuring a blog post by Andrew Malcolm trumpeting that, based on a new Gallup Poll, Republicans are "poised to reap historic gains in the House of Representatives." Gallup doesn't talk about historic Republican gains, that spin is coming from Malcolm. That he gets a home page byline as a reporter, not as a columnist or opinion blogger, is interesting in that Malcolm's chosen career profile these days is Republican cheerleader on staff at the Times and freelance in various other media. Interesting, but I guess not surprising: his former weekend relief on the GOP beat at LAT blog Top of the Ticket, ex-Bush White House aide Jimmy Orr, is now deputy editor of the entire Times website.

Wonder if Roderick would have to take the day off from his job at UCLA, to list all the Democratic P.R. But we've all got Saul Alinsky's "Activism for Dummies" now that Obama has made it famous, and chapter 7 covers the whole issue of "deflecting the issue by personal attacks."

The issue is the impending defeat of democrat socialism and the failed attempts to demonize anyone who stands in the way of Obama's social agenda.

Barbara Boxer has got nothing going for her, her 28 year record of "doing the left thing" and nothing for the left side of the USA is going to be Carly Fiorina's strongest suit.

Boxer is so far behind in the real polls it's not even as funny as her "Don't Call Me M'am" fit of arrogance and sense of self-importance.

Yes, it's time to call Boxer "M'am" again, and she knows it.
