We have 88 NCs with 88 completely different sets of rules. Only the committees and the makeup of each board should be different.

For those who wanted a "shadow government" NC system, you are going to be dissapointed, but that's not what the NCs are supposed to be. Throughout history and in present day, this is a fact. Sometimes the truth can sting, especially when they are personal truths. From 1868, when former President James Buchanan died and the truth about his homosexuality surfaced, although they referred to him as a "dandy" back then, to Condit and Levy, to Lewinsky - its always there.

It is only human to look upon the inhabitants of this cesspool - politicians - with disgust and pity. The same pity one might feel for the police car chase driver who will inevitably be caught. It's just a matter of time. But deep down you kind of hope he gets away, maybe just for once. That is why we vote for them. That is why the next presidential election will cost 3/4 of a billion dollars. We just can't turn away from that car chase.

My prayers go out to the Firebaugh family, they didn't ask to get in the car when Marco chose this car chase as his profession. As for Mayor Sam manipulating the CD 14 masses, how is that different than what Villar and Huizar just did? Don't shoot the messenger, or message medium.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1143046473612348872006-03-22T08:54:00.000-08:002006-03-22T08:54:00.000-08:00You all are some of the most sickest mothefuckers ...You all are some of the most sickest mothefuckers out there. Whether or not you liked the guy, at least respect his position, legacy and family and wait until after he has been buried to bury him on this blog.
That's why MayorSam is not a reputable place for news and information. It's the Enquirer of Los Angeles politics. No Shame.
Mayors Sam and Frank will delete other posts, but will not delete the ones disparaging the memory of a true fighter like Marco Firebaugh.
Is Mayor Sam's Sister City using folks in some kind of game? I think so. Some guy from the valley is manipulating those in CD 14 and throughout L.A. into playing into his game. You guys don't see that?
Why not post a thread on issues that face the cities and communities other than CD14? Talk about policy not gossip.
There is an article about the South Gate Treasurer who did a Chris Arellano (he lied about having a degree). I didn't see that on MS. There is an article on the City of Maywood being a "haven" for illegal immigrants. I don't see a thread to discuss that policy either. When L.A. becomes even more of a "little Mexico" and is divided by mountains of the San Fernando valley, you all will be pissed because you didn't do shit about it but gossip here at MS.
That's it, i'm out. His health battles had been known throughout the political circles and in the Southeast area for quite some time. It was not something that could be hidden, as his skin tone changed because of his illness, along with other health issues.

But I would think that some amount of information was being held close to the campaign and not let out, because in a campaign, you can't give any sign of weakness.

The bottom line is that he is gone, he will be missed for his contributions towards opening higher education to all, and that our community has lost a figher.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1143044384920247602006-03-22T08:19:00.000-08:002006-03-22T08:19:00.000-08:00As for Villaraigosa's tour of New York, that's not...As for Villaraigosa's tour of New York, that's nothing! It darkened his skin and weakened him. I doubt seriously that it was AIDS, as I have known many with AIDS and he did not reflect those symptoms. It was more likely a viral hepatitis.

Everybody who knew him saw the dramatic change. He barely hung on to his office, and then decided to leave politics. He wasn't out long, though, when he began feeling he was strong enough to return. The liver disease severely weakened his immune system, which will lead to endless idle (and some malicious) speculation about AIDs. But in spite of his changed appearance and voice, Marco was perfectly functional -- as long as he didn't catch anything.

That apparently is what happened. His system couldn't take a bout with the flu.
