He wants all the transportation money to to to extending the gold line to Montclair. WTF? why do we have to pay for the 909's? I dont care how they get to work.. With this built up city you'll find a single access on every block. So dedicating the entire street to bus traffic would be a thousand times worse than the Orange Line, which was built on a old right of way correct? So mixing cars with buses is the only option, unless you go to elevated or below grade, which brings you back to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1142986117269793142006-03-21T16:08:00.000-08:002006-03-21T16:08:00.000-08:00Where's the Mayor when this shit is happening? If we can get busses to move quickly through this town, I think a significant number of commuters would just as soon ride a bus for 30 minutes as sit in a car for 90.

And yes, the point about car access businesses was legitimate, which is why I mentioned the possibility of lanes rather than dedicating whole streets.

As for the Bus Riders' Union being Communists, that may well be, but just because you disagree with a person about one issue doesn't necessarily make him wrong about another. Admittedly, it doesn't help, but I try to keep an open mind and decide issues based on logic and evidence. And bribes. By eliminating the car traffic from the streets, you'd let the busses travel much faster than cars, which is the only way you'll get people to use mass transit in mass numbers.Walter Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09885641116259381431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1142965839061443482006-03-21T10:30:00.000-08:002006-03-21T10:30:00.000-08:00Wasn;t there a shakeup at VICA?Wasn;t there a shakeup at VICA?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1142965773542721502006-03-21T10:29:00.000-08:002006-03-21T10:29:00.000-08:00Marco Firebaugh represented AD 50 for three terms,...Marco Firebaugh represented AD 50 for three terms, and was favored to win the corresponding State Senate seat this year.

http://marcofirebaugh.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1142963866307590842006-03-21T09:57:00.000-08:002006-03-21T09:57:00.000-08:00Not sure about that.
