Parks, Antonio and Hahn made stops in South LA. Hertzberg was the only one to make a stop on the Eastside. LA Times also mentioned it was Antonio's home district. I got the info about Antonio splitting the Jewish vote with Hertzberg from the LA Times article "Hahn's Woes Leave Race for Grabs" in the 2/6/2005 paper. I may be reading too much into this but one line said "But so far he[Hertzberg] has failed to consolidate another voting bloc he has aggressively courted, Jewish voters, whom he splits with Villaraigosa." I didn't get the analysis that Antonio gets the majority of the Jewish vote if Hertzberg doesn't make the primary from anywhere, it's just my own humble opinon based on the progressive-leanings of Jewish-Americans and distaste with Hahn among all groups. I could be wrong, since Villaraigosa slightly trails Hahn in the Valley according to the LA Times Poll (with Hertzberg on top) it's conceivable if Hertzberg is not in primary Hahn could get the share of the Jewish vote Hertzberg has. I sincerely doubt it thought and I think Antonio will get Valley support if Hertzberg doesn't end up in the primary.

Hope I've cleared up any confusion,
Charlie Carnow

P.S the LA Times article is here http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-adme-poll6feb06,0,6238586.storyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1108879341436193332005-02-19T22:02:00.000-08:002005-02-19T22:02:00.000-08:00Charlie. your thoughtful posting based on personal...Charlie. your thoughtful posting based on personal experience in one campaign office is appreciated. The LA Times poll one or two weeks ago showed that Hertzberg's based is 90% Anglo. With low name recognition I'm not sure he can substantially improve that number though opening an office is definetly warranted and the LA Times poll also showed that Antonio has had a lower percentage of the Latino vote then last time. Also Villaraigosa splits the Jewish vote with Hertzberg and I think if Hertzberg doesn't make the primary Antonio gets the Jewish vote.

Just my opinion,
Charlie Carnow
P.S To the forum: Why doesn't this site concentrate more on the positions espoused by the candidates? All I've heard on this site is allegations without much sources and little discussion of the ideas in the race other than accusations that this candidate stole an idea from that candidate. I'm only 16 and can't vote yet but decided on volunteering for Antonio's campaign mostly because of the strong position that was there all the way from the beginning of the extension of the Red Line down Wilshire as well as Antonio's record of getting federal money for transit projects like the Eastside rail project and with Councilman Ludlow his efforts in resolving the transit strike. I can't vote and I don't know if I am missing something about politics but are positions and ideas just not important? Is it not fair that people could disagree on what ideas should be prioritized?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1108847168662265242005-02-19T13:06:00.000-08:002005-02-19T13:06:00.000-08:00No chingon not San Fernando Road in El Lay but the...No chingon not San Fernando Road in El Lay but the best tamales are on Pico (not in El Lay) in the City of San Fernando in the 818 puto.

https://carrillostamales.com/tamales.htmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8826939.post-1108835069932118862005-02-19T09:44:00.000-08:002005-02-19T09:44:00.000-08:00H. is employing top Eastside people.
